Born and raised in Terrace, Correina moved to Victoria in 2017 to pursue collegiate volleyball and a degree in Sport and Fitness Leadership. 3 years into her program she began her 300hr internship, working with a wide variety of general population clients as well as collegiate volleyball. In 2020 Correina began her career offering community kettlebell classes, small group training, 1 on 1 personal training, women’s/youth volleyball strength and conditioning, and cardiac rehabilitation. Correina is excited to be back in Northern B.C and to be a part of developing health and performance in all populations.
“Exercise remains one of the best treatment modalities for our health and performance. It is my hope that I can provide safe, educational, and autonomy building exercise services to not only reach your current goals but feel empowered to continue making health/performance conscious decisions.”
Upon graduating from her degree and approaching her final year of volleyball eligibility Correina began a diploma in massage therapy with hopes to diversify her skill set beyond kinesiology, and personal training. During her 330+ hours of hands-on experience she worked with a wide variety of clientele ranging from people managing neurological disorders, chronic disease, musculoskeletal, spinal cord injuries, occupation related pain and dysfunction, general wellbeing and more. Evidence-based treatment is at the forefront and you can expect various techniques, such as mobilizations, neuromuscular facilitation, myofascial release, and relaxation techniques. Correina values understanding the individual person in front of her and clients can expect a conversation surrounding their complaint, gentle movement assessment, and homecare prescription.
