“I am the owner of the Bulkley River Lodge and lead rafting expeditions trips in the Arctic.

My hobbies include fishing, rafting, hiking, photography, and research shark tagging

In 2019 I ruptured a disc in my lower back . At that stage I realized if I wanted to continue working and leading my active lifestyle, I needed to commit to a serious and consistent fitness program. I started looking for someone who has worked with committed athletes and thought I would have to go to Vancouver to find that, but the timing was perfect with Jamie returning back to Smithers to open Titan Performance.

Titan fit perfectly for my scenario. Jamie customized a program for my needs and built it around all my list of injuries. Jamie’s personalized sessions, coupled with the team builder app, makes it super easy to follow with short videos and record all your data. I am stronger and fitter now than I was 20 years ago!

Another winter YAD program was a great success! Tremendous strength, speed, agility, and coordination gains by all these super kids 👏

As we move into spring many kids are heading into field sport season, so we begin to steer more focus on the systems that translate to on field performance. This includes intensive speed development, plyometrics, reactive agility, and conditioning; as well as continued technical development on strength and power support in the weight room.
Through our spring program we will continue to place emphasis on balanced nutrition, sport psychology strategies, and mature problem solving in addition to the robust physical training they will be receiving.

Our overarching goal at Titan Performance is to create youth who are set apart - youth who are disciplined, tenacious, and skilled in ways notably different from their peers.

Last week, we concluded our 3rd and final visit to Houston for our physical literacy work shops with Twain Sullivan Elementary School.

We want to once again thank @silverkingheli for their generous support of this programming. Their contributions allowed us to spend significant time with over 100 kids through grades 5-7, all at no cost to the families or school. We are hopeful we left a positive impact on them, possibly inspiring some to pursue regular physical activity, and maybe even a few to truly pursue their athletic aspirations.

In addition to our visit, Houston Secondary invited us to run similar sessions for their grade 8s & 9s, as well as teach a session focused on programming considerations to their grade 9-12 strength and conditioning class. This class is an excellent new program which has recently been developed by their tremendous principal, Jaksun Grice. The kids will benefit from such great leadership and passion.

We would like to thank all students, teachers, administrators, and aids who welcomed us into their days for a bit of exercise and learning. We are hopeful to return to the community again in the future.

We are super excited to announce our partnership with Silverking Helicopters for our Youth Athlete Development and Physical Literacy initiatives.

In an attempt to provide low-cost physical literacy education opportunities to not only Smithers, but our northern neighbors, Ryan & Missy at Silver King have provided full cost funding for us to join grades 5, 6, and 7 at Twain Sullivan Elementary in Houston for 3 Tuesdays in a row.

Over the course of the 3 visits, we will cover speed mechanics & plyometrics, intro to strength development, nutrition, and sleep hygiene.

Titan owner and lead performance coach Jamie McCartney states, “I am an alumni of Twain. I was there through to the end of grade 2 before moving to Smithers, and I have always held roots with family and friends in the community. I couldn’t be more happy to have the opportunity to give back to the school and community in Houston. I am thankful for Ryan, Missy, and the whole crew at Silver King Helicopters for stepping up and covering all the costs for these kids. It was a truly inspiring gesture and one that I intend to always pay forward.”
